The Skin Consult is a startup company based in the metro Jackson, Miss., area. Initially focused on providing virtual skin consultations by connecting skincare professionals and consumers, in 2022, the Skin Consult began a pivot to more of a marketplace model, helping skincare professionals and medical salons create a presence on the Web.

Founder Sajani Barot says they initially started the platform as the “Uber of Skincare,” but now they’re more like the “Amazon of Skincare.” She says she’s gained considerable knowledge and confidence from her participation in CoBuilders and that working with Innovate Mississippi and other partners in the Mississippi entrepreneurial ecosystem opened her eyes to the number of startups in the state.
